1.  Reputation

The Contractor's reputation is very important.  The company that handles your remodeling project should not only have the necessary experience but they should be able to back it up with a list of happy customers.  The ultimate compliment to a remodeling company is repeat and referral clients.  This means that they not only do great work, they maintain a high level of service and professionalism.

2.  Trustworthy

Make sure you trust your contractor.  Are you comfortable with him?  What's your gut reaction?  Trust your instincts.  Call up some of  the contractor's former clients and ask a few questions.  Were they happy with the work done?  Did the contractor follow up on his word?  How would they rate the contractor?

3.  Knowledgeable

The contractor you choose should be knowledgeable in the art of remodeling - full of imaginative ideas, suggestions and product selections.  These, combined with your input, make for a win-win remodeling project.

4.  Good Communicator

Does the contractor listen to you when you make suggestions or have ideas?  Not just nodding when you speak to him - but really listening and working with you and your ideas or wishes.  Can you get in touch with him when you need him?  Does he return your calls promptly?

5.  Prompt

6.  Clean

7.  The Right Fit
